ESOL is an acronym for English to Speakers of Other Languages.  This is a federally funded program aimed to give extra support to students who speak a language other than English or may have the influence of another language that could affect their learning in English. 

Students are identified for this program based on questions in the Enrollment form and performance on a placement test.  ESOL teachers work with classroom teachers to develop lessons that will enhance students’ understanding of challenging academic language in English.  These lessons are generally delivered in small groups during regular instruction.
